ASPEN ” The Aspen Winternational brings three days of women’s World Cup action to Aspen Mountain along with various off-slope celebrations, capped off by a concert and fireworks on Saturday night.

All of the events are free.

After two days of training runs that conclude Thursday, skiers will start racing for real on Friday. A free public shuttle serving the race finish area will run every 20 minutes from the Rubey Park bus station on Durant Avenue in downtown Aspen. The shuttle will operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday.

Here’s the schedule:

10 a.m. ” World Cup stadium opens to public at Lift 1A finish area

10 am. to 4 p.m. ” Sponsor expo booths open in the gondola plaza

11 a.m. ” Women’s downhill race begins on Ruthie’s, immediately followed by awards ceremony in the finish area

2 to 4:30 p.m. ” Apres-ski street party with music, entertainment, free snacks and beverages in the gondola plaza

3 to 4 p.m. ” U.S. Ski Team members sign autographs in the gondola plaza

4 to 6 p.m. ” Hyatt Grand Aspen holiday skating party at the Silver Circle Ice Rink

6 to 6:30 p.m. ” Award ceremony for super G winners and presentation of Bingham Cup to downhill winner at gondola plaza

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ” Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert featuring Blues Traveler at the gondola plaza

8:30 p.m. ” Fireworks on Little Nell

9:30 a.m. ” World Cup stadium opens to public at Lift 1A finish area

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ” Sponsor expo booths open in the gondola plaza

10 a.m. ” Women’s first slalom run begins on Strawpile

12:15 p.m. ” Halftime entertainment and prize giveaways in finish area

1 p.m. ” Women’s final slalom run on Strawpile, followed by awards ceremony in finish area
