Aspen High hockey hosts Steamboat on Tuesday

Back on home ice.
The Aspen High School hockey team will make its return to home ice this week with a key stretch of three games.
The Skiers will host Steamboat Springs at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis Ice Arena at the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC).
Then, on Friday night, Aspen will host Resurrection Christian.
On Saturday afternoon, unbeaten Ralston Valley will play in Aspen for another game at the ARC.
"This is a huge week for us," Aspen head coach Dru Lucchesi said. "Last weekend was a good weekend for us heading into this big week."

The Skiers (3-4-0 overall) split a pair of road games last weekend in the Foothills League. They stormed past Castle View 6-1 before an 8-0 loss at powerhouse Regis Jesuit. Aspen is 2-4-0 in conference.
"We played better against Regis actually," Lucchesi said. "We learned a lot of things (against Regis). We competed well."
He said the Skiers benefited from the loss at Regis because of the quality of the competition, particularly in the first games after the holiday break.
"We wanted to get everyone in that (Regis) game," Lucchesi said. "We wanted to get experience for our young players."
He said the Skiers are working hard in practice in preparation for this critical week in the prep schedule.
"Steamboat is looking really good right now. This should be a good game," he said of Tuesday's 6:15 p.m. puck drop.
Steamboat Springs enters with a 6-2-0 overall record. The Sailors are 4-1-0 in the Foothills League.
On Friday, Resurrection Christian will visit Aspen with a 6-4-0 overall mark, 4-4-0 in league play.
The Friday game will start at 6 p.m. at the Lewis Ice Arena.
Saturday's start against Ralston Valley is set for 4 p.m. at the Lewis Ice Arena.
Ralston Valley is 6-0-0 overall, 3-0-0 in the Foothills League.
Other unbeatens in the conference include Monarch, Regis and Cherry Creek.
"We're very excited to have a week of home games," Lucchesi said.
The customary large crowd is expected for tonight's game against Steamboat Springs, a mountain rival of the Skiers.
