Speedos: Thanks, Elks
Dear Editor:The Aspen Speedos Swim Team would like to express our appreciation to the Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224 for their support of the team. The Elks have been a sponsor of our team in the past and now in 2005, they have again lent their support to the children on the team. This support has helped to provide equipment for the children and coaches on the team; and additional funding for the coaching staff. We have found the Elks to be a great organization that sponsors many activities from hosting dinners for the elderly to Easter egg hunts for the young to support for organizations such as ours. We are again proud to have been selected by them for their assistance and are tremendously grateful for their support. We proudly display their name on the team’s sponsor banner that hangs in the ARC aquatic center and on the EZ-Up tents that the team uses at swim meets. We encourage you to support the Elks whenever you have the opportunity. It is also because of help from organizations such as the Elks that we will be hosting our first-ever swim meet this summer. It will be an opportunity to show off our new pool and facility (and our sponsors) to the 18 swim teams on the Western Slope, which represent more than 1,000 swimmers. On Wednesday, March 16, the team will be hosting its 2005 season informational meeting (5:30 p.m. at the ARC). It is a chance to learn about the team and to see why the Elks are a sponsor of our team.Thank you again, Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224 – from the swimmers, coaches and parents of the Aspen Speedos.Greg Karaus, presidentAspen Speedos Swim Team
