Speak out against the resort facility
I wanted to let those who live in Missouri Heights know that the Dragon Ranch, which is a short distance up from El Jebel (off Upper Cattle Creek Road), has requested to build a resort recreation facility. This would be for indoor-outdoor events for as many as 170 people for weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions, etc. They want a guest ranch with eight rooms and to hold as many as 52 events per year, not to exceed two per week. They would be doing the catering on site.
On Aug. 2 at 2:30 p.m., Eagle County staff and representatives from Dragon Ranch will be at the Eagle County Building in El Jebel. I would like for Missouri Heights to remain agricultural, residential and a home-business community. My major concerns are the increased traffic and water use. We have a limited amount of water in Missouri Heights, and more wells could go dry.

Aspen’s dirty downtown alleys are enough of a blight that the city government is taking the initiative to clean them up this week.
