Aspen Times writer

Sounding offDear Editor:In this amazing valley, once again, we have had the pleasure of enjoying the labor of love that dozens of men, women and children offered. The Aspen Community Theatre (as well as many other organizations in our valley) enhances and enriches the already lovely experience of living here. This year’s presentation of “The Sound of Music” again raised the bar on local performances. How can you all do that every year? It just keeps getting better and better! The musicians, the actors of all ages and stages. Tammy, our neighbor, who brought the house to its feet with “Climb Every Mountain”, the backstage workers, Tom and the set-makers, light and sound crew, marketing and production workers … and then Marissa and Jody and Rita. Perhaps this year tugged at my heart a bit more because of our precious friendship with Rita, which began over 35 years ago in the Bavarian Alps, near where “The Sound of Music” was set. Took me right back there, it did!Congratulations and thanks to all of you who gave countless hours for the sheer enjoyment of your community. Every minute of your time, and all of your efforts, are deeply appreciated.Nancy and Wolf GenschSnowmass Village
