Some wild stories worth hearing

The Basalt Regional Heritage Society is sponsoring our Summer Chat with a Roaring Fork Valley cowgirl, Anita Witt.

Come join us in an afternoon of wit and wisdom with Anita as she shares her life story. She has interviewed many local cowboys and written the famous book, “They Came from Missouri,” about families living in our Missouri Heights area. She’s leaving her horse at home, but come to the Basalt Library community room, this Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and enjoy the wild stories.

Sheriff, landfill top Pitkin County budget requests

Pitkin County administrators are proposing a more than $142 million budget for 2020, which is about $6 million less than this year because of fewer construction projects and capital improvements.
