In mid-July, Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) held a cocktail party, dinner and concert at the Ritz-Carlton at Aspen Highlands. Early in the summer, JAS held its concerts under a big tent in Rio Grande Park in downtown Aspen, and coming up on Labor Day weekend will be four more days of music in Snowmass. As Aspen’s second “music festival,” the JAS concerts draw huge crowds.

Out in Snowmass in August, a benefit for Challenge Aspen and Aspen Junior Golf included a concert by Vince Gill and Amy Grant, as well as a pro-celebrity golf tournament on the new Snowmass Club golf course.So many photos, so will catch up the column items next week.Undercurrent … Many second-home owners have already left town as their children had to start school and get back to college this week.
