So long, kids
August 11, 2009
The kids call me the balloon man but my name is Checkers. I am leaving on the 26th to go home to New Orleans. I have had a great summer full of memories, only to return next year to get some more. I would like to thank each and every one of you for the best summer I’ve had in years. I got here on the 26th of June and worked the next day in the rain and woke Saturday to my picture on the front page of the paper. Now that’s a way to start a summer.
Throughout the summer I have been blessed with meeting the coolest kids in the world. I really love making balloons for them and hearing them laugh. I’ve taken in the surrounding countryside and met some of the nicest people. The staff at the St. Moritz has taken care of me all summer and I would not have been able to do it with out them.
My last day to do balloons will be Sunday the 23rd, and it will be very hard for me to say goodbye. Never have I been treated so well. Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much and I will miss each and every one of you little guys.
