So long, Chris and Sal |

So long, Chris and Sal

Dear Editor:

The last time I wrote a letter to The Aspen Times, I was in college. It was the early ’80s, and Chris Cassatt had just killed off Sal A. Mander in a glorious “Star Wars”-themed story line. I was very sad.

I had grown up with Sal. Not too much later, Chris brought Sal back to life, and he made us laugh and think for a few decades more. Sadly, now Chris is gone, and he is not coming back. We have decades of Chris’ wit in characters, photos and words. Good-bye, Chris. Good-bye, Sal. I will miss you.
