Related Colorado, Snowmass Hospitality seek grant proposals for 2014
November 15, 2013
In honor of National Philanthropy Day on Nov. 15, Related Colorado and Snowmass Hospitality are recognizing local organizations that give back as well as seeking grant proposals for 2014.
National Philanthropy Day pays tribute to the volunteers, staffs, donors and others who make up the vast number of charitable organizations that enrich lives and make transformative differences in their communities.
"The Roaring Fork Valley is blessed with an extraordinary number of local nonprofits who work tirelessly to make our lives better," said Dwayne Romero, president of Related Colorado and general manager of Snowmass Hospitality. "Whether it's in the field of education, human services or the arts, we would like to pay special tribute to the work that's done by these organizations because it reflects our corporate values. We honor this day because it reminds all of us why these groups, and so many others like them, deserve everyone's continued support."
In calendar year 2013, Related Colorado's and Snowmass Hospitality's Corporate Giving awards totaled $177,691 in cash and in-kind contributions, according to a statement. Local organizations that were awarded grants and sponsorships include: the Aspen Education Foundation, the USA Pro Challenge, Hospice of the Valley, the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Challenge Aspen, Aspen Rotary, Snowmass Village Rotary, the Snowmass Village summer concert series, Aspen Film, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, the Aspen Historical Society, the Aspen Music Festival, the Roaring Fork Conservancy, the American Cancer Society, the Little Red School House, Roaring Fork Leadership, Basalt Band Booster, the Snowmass Village Rodeo, Wildwood School, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Kids First, Youth Zone, the Aspen Youth Center, the Snowmass Community Foundation, the town of Snowmass Village's Ice Age Discovery Center and the Snowmass Village Heritage Celebration.
This is the fifth year of Related Colorado's Charitable Giving program and the fourth year for Snowmass Hospitality. Both charitable-giving programs focus on special grants and sponsorships directed toward education, the arts, community events and services directed toward children. Awards and sponsorships are determined based on public service, community needs and community benefit.
The deadline for 2014 grant and sponsorship requests is Jan. 15. Related and Snowmass Hospitality encourage organizations to begin the process with a one-page letter outlining the proposal and needs for 2014.
