Public forum on upvalley trails in Snowmass on April 11
The last big push for public input on the Upper Roaring Fork Valley Trails Plan will take place from noon to 3 p.m. April 11 at Snowmass Village Town Hall. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at noon for the presentation, before discussion begins.
Maps will be available to help participants sketch out their trail visions.
Progressive Trail Design and the International Mountain Bicycling Association are working on the trails plan in collaboration with Pitkin County Open Space and Trails, the city of Aspen, the town of Snowmass Village, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and Aspen Skiing Co.
Mountain bikers, hikers and others provided their “wish lists” of future trail projects at a Jan. 30 open house in Aspen. Members of the Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council offered their suggestions during a Dec. 5 meeting.
A draft plan is expected to be ready for review by mid-2014.
This effort is being funded by a matching grant from the Walton Family Foundation.
