Fire calls, March 23-29

The Snowmass Wildcat Fire Protection District responded to the following calls from March 23 to 29.

March 23

Fire alarm at Gene Taylor’s on the Snowmass Village Mall. The alarm system was activated by plumbers sweating pipes.



Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 19-year-old male with a possible head injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Carbon monoxide alarm at a home on Faraway Road. The alarm system was activated by an alarm technician working on the system. No carbon monoxide was detected.




Fire alarm at 640 Carriage Way on the third floor of the Laurelwood Condominiums. The alarm system was activated when someone maliciously pulled a pull station.

March 24

Fire alarm at a home on Faraway Road. The alarm system was activated by a flood in the house. No fire or smoke conditions were found. The house was left in the care of on scene property management.

Fire alarm at the dorm room at the Crestwood Condominiums. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Medical call to a home on Faraway Road for a 48-year-old male who fell off a ladder and was suffering from wrist, lower back/pelvis and leg pain. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the lobby at the Viceroy for a 55-year-old male with a laceration on his forehead. One person was evaluated at the scene and refused transportation to the hospital.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 57-year-old male suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Snowmass Clinic for a 27-year-old male with a possible head injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Fire call to the Lichenhearth Condominiums for a report of the building filling up with smoke. Our investigation found a fire in a fireplace and the chimney was not evacuating the smoke. Firefighters removed the fire from the fireplace and ventilated the building.

March 25

Medical call to the second floor of the Viceroy for a 24-year-old male having difficulty breathing. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Fire alarm at the Timberline Condominiums. The alarm system was activated by steam from a shower.

March 26

Medical call to a home on Divide Road for a person suffering from a possible back injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 33-year-old male suffering from a leg injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 15-year-old male suffering from a back injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 14-year-old female suffering from a back injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 15-year-old male suffering from a back injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

March 27

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a person suffering from an injured pelvis. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Carbon monoxide alarm at a home on Horse Ranch Drive. The alarm system was set off by a possible system malfunction as no carbon monoxide was detected.

Mutual aid requested by Aspen Ambulance to standby for additional medical calls in its district while it was busy. No calls were received.

March 29

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 50-year-old male with a possible pelvis or femur injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 53-year-old male who fell on his ski and was suffering from a right hip laceration. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Medical call to the Timberline Condominiums for a 30-year-old female who fell on the ice hitting her head. She was suffering from vomiting and was having difficulty seeing out of one eye. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Fire call to the upper building of the Lichenhearth Condominiums for a person stuck in an elevator. The person was removed from the stopped elevator unharmed.

Medical call to the Daly Lane Ski Patrol pickup location for a 71-year-old male suffering from a possible head injury and a laceration to his face. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Fire alarm at a home on Aspen Way. The alarm system was activated by a possible system malfunction as no smoke or fire conditions could be found.
