Fire calls

Staff report

The Snowmass-Wildcat Fire Protection District responded to the following calls from Aug. 11 through 17.

Aug. 11

Fire alarm at 400 Wood Road, the Crestwood Condominiums. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.



Fire alarm at 690 Carriage Way, the Timberline Condominiums. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Mutual aid requested by Aspen Ambulance for a medical call on East Hopkins Avenue. The response was canceled.




Medical call at 35 Upper Woodbridge Road, the Woodbridge Condominiums, for a person who was intoxicated. One person was evaluated and left in the care of the Snowmass Village Police Department.

Aug. 12

Medical call at 100 Elbert Lane, the Westin Hotel, for a person suffering from a possible head injury. One person was evaluated and refused transportation to the hospital.

Fire alarm at a home on Emmy Lane. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Aug. 13

Fire alarm at 70 Commons Circle, the Commons employee-housing complex. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Fire alarm at a home on Meadow Road. The alarm system was activated by steam from a shower.

Fire call to a home on Meadow Road for an odor of gasoline. No hazards were found. The residents ventilated the area with their own equipment prior to crews’ arrival and during the investigation.

Aug. 14

Fire/medical call to 233 E. Airport Road for an Alert II. The response was canceled. The plane landed safely.

Medical call at 84 Carriage Way in front of Four Mountain Sports for a person who had fallen from their bike on Vapor Trail and was suffering from an injured clavicle. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for treatment.

Aug. 15

Medical call at Pine Lane, the Snowmass Mountain Rangers pickup location, for a person who had fallen from their mountain bike and was suffering from a wrist injury, rib pain and difficulty breathing. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for treatment.

Medical call at Two Creeks Drive and Starks Trail, the Snowmass Mountain Rangers pickup location, for an 11-year-old boy who fell from his bike and was suffering from a left arm injury and fainting. One person was evaluated and left in the care of his mother.

Fire alarm at 130 Wood Road, the fourth floor of the Viceroy Hotel. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Fire alarm at 400 Wood Road, a Crestwood Condominiums dorm room. The alarm system was activated by a cooking error.

Aug. 16

Medical call to the parking lot at 120 Carriage Way for a person suffering from an elbow injury. One person was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for treatment.

Aug. 17

Special-event standby at the Snowmass Rodeo. No injuries occurred.
