A Renaissance man

In April 1986, Sean Cridland, who called Snowmass his home during his competitive years, competed in the Speed Skiing World Championships representing the U.S. He finished sixth at the race, posting a speed of 126.2 mph with a time of 203.160, his personal best run at the time. He also holds a world record on the Bonneville Salt Flats, hitting a speed of 162 mph driving a racecar, which he set while training for his speed skiing. He started his career at 18, but after he obtained his doctorate in East-West comparative philosophy in 1998, he went on to teaching, automotive journalism, photography, videography and film work, according to his biography.
