Along with the Treehouse, the new Elk Camp Meadows novice area and lifts will also open.

On Friday, the Elk Camp Gondola and quad chairlift will open for the season. Also Friday, weather permitting, is the debut of Hanging Valley Wall, Strawberry Patch, the Glades (which were open for a while last weekend), Willy’s and other neighboring terrain.

Visitors can check out the new facility and take in puppet shows, face painting, balloon artists, karaoke, storytelling and an ACES presentation with live animals.

“We’re really excited to unveil it publicly,” said Jeff Hanle, Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman. “We’ve had a tremendous reception from everyone who has used it and seen it. We want to show people it really is the premier children’s center in the ski industry.”

Parking is available in the Rodeo Lot. Free shuttles will run continuously to the Treehouse from 3:30 to 7 p.m.
