Snowmass will outline the dimensions of the Draw Site, a proposed five story, 66-unit affordable housing project, with a drone on Friday to gather evidence for an upcoming public hearing about the project.

The demonstration will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the site, located uphill and adjacent to Snowmass Town Hall, 130 Kearns Rd.

Snowmass Town Manager Clint Kinney said the demonstration will be filmed and presented during a public hearing regarding the project at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Town Hall.

“Rather than use weather balloons or a combination of a crane and story poles, it is thought that the drone flight would provide the most accurate depiction of building height and location,” he wrote in an email to Snowmass elected officials on Thursday.

According to Snowmass Town Council budget discussions, the town could break ground on the Draw Site as early as September 2026.
