Snowmass softball a great success

Dear Editor:

The second annual Snowmass Village Coed Softball season finished Saturday with a double elimination tournament. The tournament started under rainy skies; with the field prepped, the clouds cleared for a day full of sunshine and laughs. The four teams – Base Pillagers, wRec’d, Silvertree and Base Village Bombers – all battled valiantly, but in the end, Team Silvertree was too strong and remained undefeated on the day to take the title.

Thank you to all who were involved in the season. Cheers to Pat Faurer for umpiring the whole year; it is a tough job and you did very well. Thank you to the Brothers Grille for donating the prize for the winning team. To Greg Gieger, the food you brought down was amazing; thank you for your hard work and keeping everyone fed. Thank you to the Snowmass Village Parks Department for keeping the field in great shape all year round.

Look out for the first game of the year in February in the snow. See you next year for another year of coed softball fun.
