Town service schedule for Labor Day

Town of Snowmass Village administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Please be aware of the JAS Labor Day Experience and construction project detours throughout the weekend. Motorists traveling to Snowmass Village should be aware of the detour route on Highline and Owl Creek Roads due to JAS and the construction closure.

A temporary, single-lane access road will be available to access the Melton Ranch, Horse Ranch, the Crossings, Rodeo Place, and Coffey Place neighborhoods during the road closures for Labor Day weekend. There will be no JAS access through this route, and traffic control will be in place.

The Recreation Center will be closed early on Friday, Sept. 1, closed on Sept. 2 and 3, and re-open for its regular schedule on Labor Day. The Village Shuttle will offer increased service to accommodate JAS throughout the weekend in addition to its full summer schedule.

Police services are always available via dispatch by calling 970-923-5330 or by picking up the front door phone if on-site at Town Hall. Solid waste operations will continue as normal.

Gold and Senior Parking Permit lottery open

The lottery for Gold and Senior Parking Permits for the 2023-2024 winter season is now open. The number of available Gold and Senior Parking Permits has been reduced from 200 to 100 for the season.

Gold and Senior Parking Permits are available to anyone from the public through a lottery system. As of Nov. 24, 2023, Senior Parking Permits are restricted to those 70 years of age and older, regardless of whether you have held a Senior Parking Permit previously. Those drawn in the lottery for a Senior Parking Permit must bring proof of age to the Transportation Office (located at 51A Elbert Lane).

The 2023 lottery will consist of the available 85 Senior Parking Permits and 15 Gold Parking Permits. A lottery for each permit type will be held on Sept. 20. You may only enter one of the two lotteries. The winners of each lottery will be contacted by phone. Please do not call for lottery results.

Both Gold and Senior Parking Permitholders can have up to three vehicles listed on the permit, but only one vehicle on the permit may be parked in the designated lots on any given day.

Senior Parking Permits cost $325, and Gold Parking Permits cost $650. Permits must be paid by Oct. 11, 2023, or the permit will be issued to the next eligible entrant.

The funds were generated from the 2022 Wine Festival.

The 2023 Wine Festival is on Saturday, Sept. 16, and the weekend event begins with a wine dinner at the Viceroy on Friday, Sept. 15. Tickets are available online for both events.

Axes and Arms 9/11 Climb

Join local first responders for a walk from Town Park Station to the Top of the Village, 956ft, the highest number of feet that the brave New York first responders walked inside the first tower of The World Trade Center. The climb is free and open to the public; donations to the Axes and Arms Foundation are accepted and appreciated.
