“Up, up and away — the 23rd annual Hot Air Balloon Festival takes off tomorrow in Snowmass Village,” heralded The Aspen Times on June 25, 1998.

“The colorful event, hosted by the Snowmass Resort Association, begins at 5:45 a.m. Friday. … ‘Bring your cameras,’ advised Lea Ann Reed, special events manager for the SRA. ‘It’s worth being an early bird and seeing the sights.’”
