“Browns victorious as series ends,” claimed The Aspen Times, Sept. 26, 1985.

“Jughead Brown of Aspen has triumphed in the Aspen-Snowmass Points Series, edging Jerry Brown of Snowmass to finish with the most overall points in five footraces held throughout the summer in the upper Roaring Fork Valley. And, in the last race of the series, Jerry Brown was the first runner to wade across the finish line at Sunday’s rather soggy Golden Leaf Mini-Marathon. Although there was some last minute confusion in calculating the points series standings, organizers dubbed the overall series a success and pledged to do it again, only better, next summer.”
