Snowmass announces free concert lineup

Taj Mahal will return to the valley in support of the AREDay festival, this year taking place in Snowmass Village in June.

The 25th season of Snowmass’ summer concert series will draw names like Xavier Rudd, Chali 2na, Jamestown Revival and the Taj Mahal Trio for free, family-friendly entertainment all summer long.

The series kicks off June 11 with Royal Southern Brotherhood featuring Cyril Neville. Traditionally held on Thursday nights, this season’s outdoor concert series includes two Friday and four Saturday shows.

That’s in part due to many of the concerts happening concurrently with one of the many events or group conferences scheduled this summer in Snowmass Village. Here’s a list of the performers on tap and summer events to look forward to:

The popular Kids’ Zone will return during nine of the concerts with free face painting, clowns, hula-hooping, a bouncy house and more. Beer, wine and premade cocktails are available for purchase, along with a variety of fine wines. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, pack a picnic basket or purchase food from vendors on site.
