Snow a no-show in Aspen, so far
Aspen, CO Colorado
ASPEN ” A snow advisory is in effect for Aspen Thursday afternoon and Friday. The only thing missing is the snow.
By mid-afternoon Thursday, none of the forecasted snow had yet to materialize in Aspen, though ski resorts around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra welcomed a foot or more of new snow Thursday morning. The storm, perhaps, is still tracking toward western Colorado, though the National Weather Service has backed off on its forecast for snowfall in the Aspen area.
As of Thursday morning, the weather service was calling for an inch of snow Thursday afternoon, 2 to 4 inches on Thursday night and 2 to 4 inches on Friday, with blowing snow and gusty winds. Those accumulations have been adjusted downward from Wednesday’s predictions.
By the weekend, overnight wind chill readings below zero are forecast, with daytime highs of 10 to 20 on Saturday and 15 to 25 on Sunday.
