SNOWMASS VILLAGE – Volunteers will tackle a project at Sky Mountain Park on Saturday, which is National Trails Day.
Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and Pitkin County Open Space and Trails have planned the project on the open space that stretches from Snowmass Village to Highway 82; the workday runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes dinner.
Volunteers will help build more than a half-mile of new singletrack for the Skyline Ridge Trail. It will replace a steep, eroding section of road. Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and its project partners provide the tools, materials and leadership as well as dinner after each work session.
