GRAND COUNTY, Colo. – An Evergreen man died Sunday after he was caught in a small avalanche at Winter Park Resort, the same day a teenager died on Vail Mountain.

Grand County Coroner Brenda Bock says 28-year-old Christopher Norris died of asphyxiation after he was caught in a small slide at Winter Park. Resort officials say his body was found in a wooded area on the ski area’s Mary Jane Mountain after he failed to meet up with his companions.

At Vail, 13-year-old Taft Conlin of Eagle died in an avalanche on an expert run in a closed area at Vail.
