He was later transported to Vail Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The dead skier’s name was not released and no information was available concerning the other skier involved. Beaver Creek spokeswoman Christina Schleicher said she did not know if the dead man was vacationing at the resort or had family with him.”The family has been contacted, but I don’t know where they are,” Schleicher said. The death was the first this year at Beaver Creek, Schleicher said.”Beaver Creek Resort, Beaver Creek ski patrol and the Vail Resorts family extend their deepest sympathy and support to the family and friends of the man,” Schleicher said. Eagle County sheriff’s deputies investigated the matter and found nothing suspicious or criminal about the collision, spokeswoman Tanny McGinnis said.
