Skico should continue as a leader in ski industry
Dear Editor:
Most agree that Natasha Richardson might not have died if she was wearing a helmet. Helmets are most protective at slower speeds, and she was on a beginner slope.
In light of this, I am asking Aspen Skiing Co. to require all instructors and patrollers to wear helmets. They are important role models for all skiers and riders.
I understand that patrollers have specific audio needs, and I’m confident that can be accommodated.
Also, I think Skico should require all employees who ski on a Skico pass wear a helmet whenever they are on the slope ” working or not.
It’s time. I don’t need to write a long letter. We all know what’s right.
Oh yes, and by the way, I saw a young woman with a baby on her back pack snowplowing ” and having difficulty ” down Aspen Mountain on Sunday. C’mon Skico ” why is she permitted on the lift with a baby?
