Ski resort investigating lift accident

BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Ski Resort is investigating how three people fell about 20 feet from the Quicksilver Super 6 Lift last week, said resort spokeswoman Nicky DeFord.Two minors and an adult dropped from the six-person chair between tower one and tower two of Peak 9’s Quicksilver Lift on Friday, DeFord said.An ambulance transported all three to Swedish Medical Center in Denver; the injuries were not life threatening, she said.DeFord did not know the victims’ names, but she said they are Colorado residents who were visiting Breckenridge for the day.The resort is taking witness statements and looking into the accident to determine whether it was caused by a lift malfunction or other reasons.
