Showcasing the slopes to injured Israeli vets

Dear Editor:

I want to take this opportunity on behalf of Golshim L’Chaim-Ski To Live to thank all those who supported, volunteered, participated and welcomed the 2011 group of injured Israeli veterans to Aspen.

During this fourth year of the program, the soldiers enjoyed a week of skiing and snowboarding, great meals and local hospitality that will create life-long memories and have a lasting effect on their futures. The participants are able to look beyond their physical limitations and enjoy this valuable experience on the mountain because of the generosity of the following people and organizations:

Mike Kaplan and Aspen Skiing Co.; Houston Cowan and Sarah Williams Volp; Challenge Aspen C.A.M.O Division; Gabi Benel; the Challenge Aspen instructors, interns and volunteers; Rabbi Mendel Mintz, Chabad Jewish Community Center; UJA Aspen Valley; Inbar Coriat and Elyane Sterzer; Etar; Dahlia Vardy and the Neshama Center; Rabbi David Segal and AJC; Rob Leavitt; Harry Feldman; Shalom Ilouz; Roberta and Teddy Katz; Peggy Scharlin Ben Hamoo and Shlomo Ben Hamoo; and all the skiers, servers, and especially the donors, whose contributions allow us to offer this program to the many deserving heroes who sacrifice personally defending the Land of Israel.

Thank you all for another successful year!

Nina Hawn Zale, Golshim L’Chaim
