Shorney, Pattison engaged

Ryan Ray Shorney announces his engagement to Amanda Mae Pattison.
Ryan, a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, is the son of Glenn and Peggy Shorney of Lincoln, Neb., and currently works for the Aspen Skiing Co.
Amanda, a graduate of Western Michigan University, is the daughter of Mike and Debra Pattison of Kalamazoo, Mich., and she currently works at the Sky Hotel in Aspen.
The marriage ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2011, and a honeymoon in Hawaii will follow. The couple plans to continue living in Basalt.

Longhorn seniors clear final hurdles to graduate from Basalt High School
Andrew Huntsman and Ralph Smalley were chosen by the seniors to give the class address during Basalt High School’s graduation ceremony on Saturday. This had the two BHS teachers questioning the legitimacy of those diplomas they were about to hand out.
