Shelter is the cat’s meow

Dear Editor:Thank you so much for the heartwarming story of Chucky reuniting with his owners after two years. (The Aspen Times, March 16).Years ago the animal shelter helped me find my 8-month-old kitty, Eloise, after she inadvertently jumped into a stranger’s car and took a trip from Woody Creek to Aspen. Many of us are thankful that we have a no-kill shelter! And please do not forget that our brand new Aspen-Pitkin Animal Shelter is celebrating its grand opening this Sunday, March 26 from 3-6 p.m. (Look for the balloons at the RFTA bus barn turnoff.)Heidi H.
