Shawnee Tyler Sawer, a beloved husband, son and brother died on Saturday, Dec. 10, due to his long battle with depression. He was 32 years old.Shawnee was born in Aspen on Sept. 5, 1973, to Ken and Carolyn Sawer. He grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and graduated from Basalt High School in 1991. He was known for being a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and for his loving concern for family and friends.Shawnee married Stephanie Dumdie of Florida in 1997 and was a wonderful, devoted, loving husband. He enjoyed spending time skiing, fishing and biking with his family in the mountains. He was part-owner, along with his father, of Kenny’s Custom Painting. His clients enjoyed this man’s quiet ways and his attention to detail.He is survived by his wife of eight years, Stephanie; his parents, Ken and Carolyn of Carbondale; his brother Corry, who currently lives in Malawi, Africa; his sister Jennifer Major and her husband, Tony, and a niece, Chloe, of Carbondale. His friends in the valley and around the country will miss him dearly.A memorial fund in Shawnee’s name has been set up at Alpine Bank of Carbondale for the family. Send donations to P.O.
