Shari L. Sampson

Miss Shari L. Sampson died of cancer on June 1, 2016 while staying with longtime friend, Jane Poulos, of Paonia, CO. Shari was born 1/02/31 in Temple, TX to Ila and Carrie Sampson. She received her BA degree from Texas Christian University in 1953. In 1955 she moved to Aspen and enjoy the skiing and was passionate about protecting animals. In the 80’s she moved to Basalt, and then to Paonia in 1999, where she continued her animal rescue activities and worked for the Region 10 Ombudsman program.
A Memorial service was held June 18, 2016 at Paonia Town Park. Memorial contributions can be made to local animal shelters.
