Shapiro, Gleason join Snowmass boards

SNOWMASS VILLAGE – The Snowmass Town Council on Monday appointed two people to separate town boards.

Nancy Shapiro was chosen to fill a vacant seat on the Part-Time Residents Advisory Board; she replaces Victor Rauch. Shawn Gleason will now sit on the Financial Advisory Board; he replaces Howard Gross.

“She wanted to get actively involved in the community, and this seems like the perfect opportunity,” said Mel Blumenthal, interim chairman of the Part-Time Residents Advisory Board, in support of Shapiro’s appointment.

According to Shapiro’s application for the post, she lives in Snowmass Village in both summer and winter.

Gleason, on the other hand, is a full-time Snowmass Village resident who has previously applied for the Financial Advisory Board.

“I’ve known Shawn for a period of time, and he is awesome. He gets the job done,” said Councilwoman Markey Butler before approving his nomination at Monday’s meeting. “He is very committed to this community.”
