Shaky leadership
Dear Editor:Even I am surprised that Sheriff Bob, who is supposed to protect and serve the honest, law abiding people of Pitkin County would write a letter in support of Bert Fingerhut. I have great admiration and respect for Mountain Rescue. I can even almost say thanks to Bert for the missions he has been on. But, hello … he stole not just hundreds or thousands, but MILLIONS of dollars! Our Sheriff Braudis is starting to show signs of dementia. He can write a letter in support of a criminal, but he does not write a reply or meet with a law abiding citizen (that would be me), with sincere concerns about the safety of Highway 82. It may be time to recall Sheriff Braudis. His skewed perception of what is important may cost someone their life.Kim VieiraAspen
