Dear Editor:I am writing in response to Scott Condon’s article about the basketball drama in Carbondale (“Basalt mayor tossed from hoops game,” Feb. 6).It is my understanding a referee may at any point stop a game mid-bounce if necessary to regain some sort of composure. Why wasn’t that course of action taken? Sometimes a group just needs is a little reminder. Stopping the game and making an announcement would have been a more productive way of handling this situation.Instead, a guy got slandered on the front page of the paper, an entire town got labled and oh yeah, most importantly – the kids may not get to play their game. I invite all parties involved to come to an agreement so these kids can play this weekend. Show them how adults can make mistakes and learn valuable lessons in the process.Deb MorrisonBasalt
