Service with a smile
Dear Editor:What with the considerable amount of negative commentary floating around regarding the sale and management changes at the Hotel Jerome:Last week my wife and I had called the hotel to confirm hours of operation in the restaurant. The next day, we showed up well before the stated closing hour to find a hostess at her stand and an empty restaurant behind her. We told her of our having been apparently misled by someone. She was courteously apologetic regarding our displeasure and suggested we take our complaint to the interim general manager, Tim Estes, who was standing nearby. He was most sympathetic and understanding of our disappointment and, over our objections, asked us to stand by while he checked with the kitchen. Our objective had simply been to alert him to the communication breakdown, and we reflected on that while we sat in that otherwise vacant dining room and enjoyed a superb meal. Our single observation would be that there is definitely a continuation of quality service and hospitality at the Jerome.Jim and Bianca HookerSnowmass Village
