Service for Pete Platek set Wednesday

ASPEN ” Community members are invited to celebrate the life of longtime Aspen resident, chef and musician Pete Platek on Wednesday on top of Aspen Mountain.

Upload from 10-10:30 a.m. to attend the 11 a.m. memorial service, which is tentatively planned for the wedding deck next to the Sundeck restaurant (fol­low the signs upon exiting the gondola). Bring a lawn chair or blanket for your comfort.

Platek was the head chef at Gwyn’s High Alpine Restaurant in Snowmass, and he also worked for a variety of catering companies, according to friend Megan Kotz. Kotz also described him as a hiking and skiing enthusiast ” and musician. He played banjo and guitar and sang in the Lone Pine Bluegrass Band.
