Senator supports 3A
October 25, 2010
There are many important and complicated issues on the ballot this year, but I would like to draw your attention to a local ballot measure, Referendum 3A. Referendum 3A allows for a mill levy increase to support our schools. This will cost each district homeowner just $16 per year on each $500,000 of property value.
As your state senator, I’ve been working hard to make sure that we continue with our most important investment – our children’s education – even in these difficult financial times. I am doing my part at the state level and I strongly encourage all of you in the Aspen School District to do your part and vote in favor of Referendum 3A.
Continuing budget shortfalls at the state level will put our schools at risk for larger class sizes and cuts in programs and services. Referendum 3A will help mitigate those effects in our local school district. The future of our state truly depends on quality education for our children and Referendum 3A will preserve the education that our community so values. Thank you for your consideration.
