Selby: Aspen’s Oscar party

01: Aspen Film themed each of the Oscar party tables. Among the most fun was this one - Casablanca.

If you couldn’t make it to Hollywood for the Academy Awards on Feb. 22, Aspen Film’s shindig at the Caribou Club served as an optimal alternative. The annual gathering for film buffs, socialites and cineastes began with a red carpet entry via Caribou Alley for photo ops. Guests next checked their coats, stoles and boots before descending the stairs for a sumptuous affair that spanned the club’s Great Room, dining chambers, bar and dance floor. Board members, patrons and friends of Aspen Film enjoyed cocktails, dinner and a viewing party. Emcee John Sarpa took to the stage during commercial breaks to raise funds for the beloved nonprofit and relay news about its extensive programs and pursuits.
