See how they run

Dear Editor:

As a person who is very involved in the community of Basalt, but unable to vote in the election since I live outside the town limits, I would like the voters to consider who they are voting for as it affects all of us both living in and around Basalt.

Remember who you saw these past years attending and supporting school, community, nonprofit and other events that are a part of Basalt. Representing Basalt does not just mean showing up for council meeting, but also taking an active part in the community. From setting up for River Days to dishing up food at the annual St. Patrick’s day dinner to sitting in the stands and cheering on the local sports teams.

Involvement is what you want in a council person and not one who just makes decisions without being a true participant in the community events through volunteering. Look around and remember who is actually involved in the Basalt community.
