Search for Pitkin County election manager under way

ASPEN – The job of Pitkin County deputy director of elections has attracted 27 applicants, according to the county’s Human Resources Department.

The candidates include 21 from within Colorado and six from outside the state.

The position, within the county Clerk and Recorder’s Office, was advertised with an annual salary of $54,704 to $65,644.

Dwight Shellman III, who took the post in January 2010, tendered his resignation in December, citing personal reasons. His resignation is effective at the end of this month.
