Scouting for help

Dear Editor:The last few years, the Basalt Girl Scouts have adopted a solider and his troop in Iraq. Our soldier has local ties and we have been sending packages with food, games and, of course, Girl Scout cookies!I am writing to ask if anyone has the following items which they would like to donate to include in our packages. Specifically, they have been asking for MWR (morale, welfare and recreation) items. If anyone has any of the following they can spare, please drop them off at St. Vincents Church in Basalt: used movie DVDs, footballs, Frisbees, baseball gloves, bats, used golf balls, board games, Chinese horse shoes, ladder golf, Sudoko cubes, or any other small, entertaining items. We will be collecting these items through the month of January. If you would like to help with cost of postage, please contact me at 923-3347.With everyones help, we can help ensure our soldiers overseas have a merrier Christmas and a happier 2008.
