Scott Wesley Maynard

Aspen, CO Colorado

Scott Wesley Maynard passed away in Carbondale from natural causes on Feb. 12, 2010. He was 49.

Scott was born in Logan, W.V. on April 5, 1960. His mother and stepfather, Glenna and Boo Lusk, moved their family to Carbondale in the ’60s. He attended Roaring Fork High School. The years of 1977 and ’78 were both memorable for No. 65, since the Rams were state champions both years and Scott was declared MVP. The avid hunter spent every October scouting for the perfect elk. Boo had him hunting as soon as he could hold a rifle. He worked at Mid-Continent, for the City of Aspen and Carbondale. He’d say, “I’m not a laborer, I’m an operator.”

He adored his loving mother, Glenna, and she will miss her little boy. Phillip, Tina, Lawrence, Roger, Greg, Mariane, JoEllen, Linda, Gina, the Manzanares, Welches, Grosses and so many more will miss that affectionate smile that was instantly contagious.

Donations may be made to his memorial fund at the American Legion, where a memorial service is being held on Feb. 20, 2010 at 3 p.m.
