Salazar deserves our thanks

Dear Editor:

Last Saturday, we came one step closer to achieving health care reform in America. The U.S. House of Representatives took the historic step of passing their health care reform bill.

Our congressman, John Salazar, faced down intense pressure from insurance company lobbyists and sided with the American people and voted “yes” on Saturday night. As expected, the final tally was very close, and Rep. Salazar’s vote was crucial to putting reform over the top.

Congressman Salazar deserves a big thank-you for voting yes and for supporting the will of the majority of his constituents. Thank you also to those of you who have been making your calls. Our calls really made a difference all across the country. Many congressmen have attributed their support of the public option to the many calls they received from their constituents. Our calls to the Senate will be next.
