Ruth B. (Elmont) Vagneur

Ruth B. (Elmont) Vagneur died on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Heritage Park Care Center. She was 85.She and twin sister Alice were born on the family farm between Byers and Deer Trail to Herbert and Maude (Jakeman) Elmont. The family moved to the Basalt/Reudi area in the 1920s. She married Allen Vagneur on Dec. 21, 1939, in Denver. They raised their family on their ranch in Woody Creek. The viewing will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Farnum-Holt Mortuary at 405 W. Seventh St. in Glenwood Springs. A graveside service for family will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Red Butte Cemetery in Aspen. A celebration of her life will follow later Friday.
