Run for Their Lives

Dear Editor:Ever wonder where the orphaned or injured wildlife found on the Western Slope go for rehab prior to being released back to their natural habitat? It happens at the Schneegas Wildlife Foundation in Silt. Those making it happen are Nanci Limbach, her crew of volunteers and the foundation donors. You can also help by participating in the foundations annual fundraiser, the 5K/Walk Run for Their Lives. The run is on June 6 and starts at 8:30 a.m. in Silt at the Stoney Ridge Ball Field. If you cannot make the run, but want to send a donation, our address is The Schneegas Wildlife Foundation, 5945 County Road 346, Silt, CO 81652.The early registration fee is $20 per person. On the day of the race, it is $25 per person. The family registration fee is flexible. Staff will hold a yard sale in conjunction with the run. Contact Sandy on 970-876-2081 to register and for details about the location and yard sale donations. The foundation works closely with, but is not funded by, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, local governments and animal control departments. The foundation survives through donations, grants and its all-volunteer staff. Check us out at http://www.schneegaswildlifefoundation.org.Thanks to everyone who donates. Your contributions will make a huge difference to the critters that vacation at the foundation.Lindsay SmithAspen
