Ruedi water managers to outline 2010 plans

Aspen, CO Colorado

BASALT – The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation will hold a meeting in Basalt from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall to discuss Ruedi Reservoir’s operations in 2009 and projections for the 2010 water year.

The meeting is designed to give the public an idea of the water releases from the reservoir into the Fryingpan River this spring, summer and fall. It will include a question-and-answer session.

Anglers and town officials were critical of releases last summer and their effect on trout fishing in the river.

The reclamation bureau has committed to holding a second meeting on operations later in the summer to improve communication with the interested public. That second meeting will be held in late July, according to the bureau.
