Roy’s ‘facts’ questionable

Aspen Times writer

Dear Editor:Commissioner Roy’s letter (Aspen Times, Aug. 3) of “facts” in The Aspen Times is one of the reasons why I decided to run against her for Pitkin County commissioner in District 3. First she stated that she never ran as a Republican. In the past, she led the Republican Party to believe that she supported it because she told us that she was a registered Republican. In fact, when I was in Denver to testify before the Senate Agriculture Committee, what she said (as she sat across from Sen. Jack Taylor, not me) was that she was a Republican and that she represented all of the Republicans in Pitkin County. She approached some Republicans about the party endorsement, in fact, but lost out. Now, she’s non-partisan and only seeks to please everyone all the time and vote with the majority. Jeez, Shellie, no wonder your political life is a bit of a challenge. Your platform of different facts for different folks would baffle Einstein, trying to keep it all straight. As “intelligent and incredibly knowledgeable” as you are, you ain’t him.Vote for William Mohrman in the primary on Aug. 10.Bill MohrmanAspen
