Rough game

Kelley Cox/Post IndependentPolo is a rough game. Just ask referee Allan Shaffer, who hits the ground after a collision as player Lloyd Ryder falls from his horse during Sunday's Devereux Cup, held at the Stout Ranch, south of New Castle. No riders or horses were seriously injured. There are two balls on the field because one was dropped by the referee when he fell. See Sports for details on the match, a long-standing event in area polo history.
