Rotary Scholarship makes difference

Dear Editor:I want to sincerely thank the members of the Rotary Club and especially the scholarship committee for selecting me as a recipient of the Rotary Scholarship from the class of 2005. The Rotary Club is a major part of the Aspen community, and I am so thankful that I was chosen to receive this award. I feel so blessed to live in Aspen because of organizations like yours. This scholarship aided me in pursuing my dream of being a special education teacher. The University of Colorado has an outstanding special education program, and I am privileged to be attending there this fall. Money is scarce in my household, and I am fortunate that I can now go to college and graduate without an immense debt over my shoulders. I promise that I will make a difference in my lifetime, whether it be in just a few students’ lives or in the world, but I do not know if I could make that promise if it were not for the awards that I was given. Now I know what it feels like to be blessed in so many ways. I am truly grateful for the Rotary Club. Thank you, thank you, thank you!Sophia MortonAspen
